The Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock has accepted four product lines from Lee Cowan's Stone County Art in Fox. Connecting Stones©, Memory Stones©, African Women, and Goddess sculptures were selected for inclusion in the Presidential Center's gift shop.

The African Women and Goddess figures are part of a series of Primitive Women figures Cowan is creating. Her Connecting Stones© are two small, similarly designed pieces which serve as reminders that relationships can continue when hearts remain together, even though death or other circumstances may separate the individuals physically. A Memory Stone© is a concrete reminder of a particularly wonderful time, person, or pet. Each piece of Stone County Art is a hand-crafted, original, one-of-a-kind piece of art. The particular works selected by the Clinton Presidential Center are designed for either indoor or outdoor use.

Relatively new to the artistic world, Cowan wished to express her appreciation to the Stone County community for helping her enter the field of arts and crafts. Her work was juried into the Arkansas Craft Guild at the Mountain View store in 2001. Many individual artists as well as other friends gave her continued support and encouragement as she explored new concepts. In 2002 the organizers of the Off the Beaten Path Open Studio Tour welcomed her studio into their venue. The business people such as Creative Impressions have been patient and generous in helping her design tags and other packaging materials for the work.

Currently Stone County Art can be seen at several places around the state: the Fort Smith Art Center, the Arkansas Craft Guild in Mountain View, both the Chroma Gallery and Gallery 26 in Little Rock, and The Old Carriage House in Jasper. The web address is www.StoneCountyArt.com .
